terms of service

Disclaimer

Terms may change without notice. Clients will have a one-week buffer to agree to the changes. I reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who violates these terms. By commissioning me (kuppatan), you (the client) automatically agree to these terms.

Commission Procedure

  • Understand that our visions might not always align perfectly.

  • In order for me to best understand what you’d like, please provide relevant reference material. Character reference, moodboards, rough sketch diagrams, and inspiration are all very helpful. Take note that AI reference material will incur a cost or may otherwise be refused. (See AI Policy for more detail.)

  • Work will begin once payment is received.

  • All commissions are for personal use only unless otherwise negotiated. If you would like a commercial license for a commission, let me know and we can talk it through. The additional cost of a commercial license depends on a case-by-case basis.

  • If a commission exceeds the turnaround time, I will usually contact the client if it's late within a week.

  • The rounds of feedback over the course of a commission will vary depending on the specific type of commission ordered. Some commissions may have no rounds of feedback. Check the terms for the commission if you are unsure.

  • For each round of feedback, I will send the client a screenshot of the commissioned work and wait 3 business days to receive feedback on the work. Feedback should cover what edits, if any, the client wants to that stage of artwork. After three days, unless discussed with the client beforehand, it will be assumed the client has no edits for that round of feedback and work will continue on the commission. I may ask clarifying questions when it comes to a client’s feedback and that is included within that round.

  • Edits/revisions to major aspects of art that have been reviewed in a previous round of feedback will cost 10% of initial commission price. Major aspects include character posing, color, clothing, and anything else I deem a major aspect. If you have questions about what constitutes a ‘major aspect’ of art, feel free to ask.

  • I will make edits for free if I miss specific details on a provided reference unless otherwise stated on the terms of a given type of commission. Commissions such as chibi commissions will specify that details may be simplified or omitted.

  • After full payment is received and work is completed, I will send a full resolution, non-watermarked version of the art to the client.

  • I have the right to refuse any commission and may terminate the commission process at ANY time for any reason.. Clients may also terminate the commission at any time for any reason. If the commission is terminated on the part of the client or myself, a refund will be provided to the client depending on how much of the commission was completed based on my judgement.

AI Policy

Any AI reference material provided will add 20% of the initial commission price to the total cost. I may refuse AI reference material provided; if this results in no AI images used, there will be no added cost. Lack of transparency regarding usage of AI created material (images, text, or otherwise) may result in blacklisting.Clients training AI on commissioned art or processing commissioned art with AI will result in blacklisting.

Payment

All payments are to be made in USD via Square or Venmo. Payment will be made by invoice; please do not send money until requested.Payment is required upfront before work begins unless a payment plan is negotiated beforehand. I do not accept alternative compensation.Payment is due within 48 hours, after which the commission will be canceled.Clients will not receive a full-resolution version until full payment is made. An unwatermarked version will also be provided.

Payment Plans

Payment plans are available for commissions over $100 USD. Please notify me beforehand. For all payment plans, a 50% down payment is required before any work starts. From the purchase date, clients must make payments every 30 days as negotiated.Failure to make a payment will result in a warning and cancellation of the commission.
Grace periods can be arranged if communicated in advance.
